Second Start Literacy Program Funding

The Second Start Literacy Program is a California State and Federal non-profit organization in conjunction with Covina Library Fund, Inc. The program provides one-to-one literacy instruction to adults in the East San Gabriel Valley, and we are currently developing programs to assist children and adults with learning disabilities. All of these programs are offered to the community free of charge.

Funding for Second Start Literacy is provided by grants from the State of California, United States Department of Education,  and by Community Development Block Grants. We have also received generous financial support from the Verizon SuperPages, The Wells Fargo Foundation, and Edison International. Please visit our sponsors' web sites linked below to find out more about how they help address literacy issues. Let them know you appreciate them via patronage or direct contact. Our program would not have its rich diversity if not for these fine citizens of the business community.

If you are aware of any grant or other funding opportunities, or if you would like to help us continue this valuable service to our local communities by means of a tax-deductible contribution, please contact the Literacy Office at (626) 858-5553 or by email here.
